PHOTOGRAPHY
QUESTIONS
Will my
portrait look like my photograph?
I can make
the painting look almost exactly like your photograph, or I can
use artistic creativity to portray the subject, it's up to you
and what you like.

to questions)
Can
I use digital photos?
The painting
of Maddie
& the cats was created using all digital photography!
One actual photo of each subject was mailed to me so that I could
be sure that the coloring was correct because of the variance
in digital cameras and monitors, but the actual photos used for
the portrait were digital photos emailed to me over the internet.

to questions)
Can
I use an old photo that isn't very good?
Well, I'd
rather you didn't ;o) but if it's the only one you have, I'm sure
we can make a beautiful portrait from it.
(back

Can
I use studio photos that were taken by a professional photographer?
I can use
a studio portrait as reference for colors & features. I just
can't copy the exact layout, pose & background without written
permission from the photographer.
(back
to questions)
Who
takes the photos?
Usually, the
client takes the photos. If you live within 100 miles of me, I
will drive out and take photos if you would like, I charge $100
plus the cost of film & developing if I have to make a special
trip. HOWEVER I go to Waco and Dallas/Fort Worth every once in
a while, and I'd be glad to stop off and take photos for you AT
NO CHARGE while I'm there.
(back

What if
I only have a black & white photograph?
Merely provide another photo or magazine ad
or something that has the right coloring and I can create a beautiful
portrait for you. John's
portrait
(at left) was painted from a b/w photo:
