loves it, and all of our friends think it's terrific! I can't
thank you enough for doing such a fabulous job and for being so
easy to work with. It was truly a pleasure collaborating on this
with you." - AMF

"I want to thank you again for the beautiful Howling Beagle sign
you made for my husband's Christmas gift. Last week our beagle
Charlie suffered an injury and to our shock his health deteriorated
quickly and he passed away on Thursday. We were not prepared to
lose him at such a young age, he was only 5 years old. I can't
tell you what a comfort it is to have the portrait of him howling
at us to look at during this difficult time. It means everything
to us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for painting such
a beautiful portrait of my beagle baby". - AMF
This sign pictures
Charlie, the howling beagle. It was painted from a bad flash photo.
I'm used to working with bad photos and can usually figure them
out. This sign has a black frame around it because it is made
from a thinner panel than I usually. It is painted with oils and
antiqued with a crackled finshed. I was trying to minmize the
weight since it was being shipped to Europe. Either a 3/4" panel
or a thin panel with a frame can be used for a pub sign. Unfortunately,
Charlie passed away shortely after his portrait was painted.
Be sure you enlarge the painting so you can see it better. |

20"x24" - Oil on Wood
Panel Antiqued with Crackle Finish
This pub sign was designed
around the client's Greyhound Dog. It is about 20"x24" on 3/4"
wood panel, painted and antiqued with a crackle finish. This really
does look like a sign from a pub. It is not on thin, flimsy background
and can hang easily. |

"Good for what
ales you"
This was done by a
wife for her husband - his is the portrait on the sign. Painted
and antiqued on sturdy 3/4" wood panel, it really looks like an
actual pub sign. |

"You are TOTALLY
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! We'd seen dog portraits in this style and
attempted to get them. The shop was supposed to call us back and
tell us if they could have the artist paint a White German Shepherd
. . . that was about a year ago. I was always disappointed that
the paintings didn't materialize and mentioned it a couple of
times. I didn't know anyone was listening!!!
Now, I'm GLAD THEY
DIDN'T follow through. YOUR paintings appeared today and I almost
fell over! I kept repeating over and over again, "I LOVE them!
OMG, they're AMAZING!" For me, someone who is never at a loss
for words, I'm dumbfounded trying to find a way to tell you how
BEAUTIFUL these paintings are. You've captured Lucky, right down
to her teeth! They're exquisitely painted and are so much more
than "just a dog portrait". They capture the sense of humor and
love within you as well. Thanks SO much for making this the finest,
most personal gift I've ever received. Straight from your talent,
and your heart. It shows how deeply you care about pleasing us
as well as yourself! I wish you all the best, and from the depth
of my heart, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
Sincerely, Richard

I do extensive
research to find actual and authentic uniforms to recreate. The
person commissioning the portrait can specify a particular uniform
or choose from a selection that I put together specifically for
them. These were just selected because they seemed to fit the
dog. |

pleased with their stern looking min-pin. |

This was painted as
a family group gift to their father. It is his Golden Retriever
painted in the style of an antique child's portrait. I worked
with many members of the family to coordinate their ideas into
this portrait.
"Thanks so much
for your wonderful work. Our father was speachless and thrilled
by the painting of Lancelot! Your work was timely, well coordinated,
and well presented. I loved the way you captured Lancelot's eyes!
Thanks for woking so closely with us, and dealing with multiple
inputs. You did a great job. Thanks so much".- collection of Garrett

This pub sign got it's
inspiration from the classic 1930 "American Gothic" painting by
Grant Wood - in a more light-hearted tone, of course. Painting
done on 3/4" wood panel and antiqued to simulate an actual pub
sign. 24"x30" - Oil on Wood Panel Antiqued with Crackle Finish |
